Respect at Work for high school students<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Circle Green’s Workplace Respect Project provides legal assistance services for people who have experienced workplace sexual harassment and discrimination.<\/span><\/p>\n

Workers between 15-17 years old face some of the highest rates of workplace sexual harassment in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop offers a valuable opportunity for high school students to learn about workplace sexual harassment and the important role of an active bystander in contributing to safer, more respectful workplaces for all.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who is this training for?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This training is suitable for all students in years 11 and 12. It is designed to be delivered to classroom groups of 30 students or less. Depending on our capacity, we may be able to deliver multiple sessions to different classrooms in the same school.<\/span><\/p>\n

What will I learn?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Learning outcomes include:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • The ability to define and identify workplace sexual harassment;<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n
  • An understanding of the nature, frequency and impact of workplace sexual harassment on Australian workers;<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/li>\n
  • An understanding of the role of an active bystander in challenging workplace sexual harassment and myths about sexual violence; and<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Practical skills to promote safe, appropriate bystander action.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u00a0How long is the session?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    This session runs for 1.5 hours, inclusive of a 5-minute break.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Facilitated session delivery includes:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0– A PowerPoint presentation;<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Practice activities and other interactive activities\/roleplays; and<\/span><\/p>\n

    – Work booklets with information on workplace sexual harassment, including useful resources and support services for students to take away.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Cost<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    This workshop is free for WA-based high schools.<\/span><\/p>\n
