Make Renting Fair 

Better, fairer laws for renters in WA

The Make Renting Fair Alliance is a coalition of Western Australia’s key community organisations and people who rent their homes.

Circle Green Community Legal, alongside Shelter WA, Anglicare WA, the Tenant's Action Group WA and WACOSS, are working together to improve living conditions for WA's 700,000 renters. 

We are campaigning for ten key changes to how renting is regulated in WA that would we believe will result in better outcomes for both tenants and landlords.

The ten key issues we want to see made in the review of the Residential Tenancies Act (1987):

  • End unfair evictions
  • Allow reasonable modifications
  • Create minimum standards, including climate appropriate housing
  • Stabilise rent increases
  • Include boarders and lodgers
  • Allow pets
  • Quick, fair and consistent dispute resolution
  • Better deal for public housing tenants
  • Increase access to tenant advocacy and information
  • Privacy
