On World Day Against Trafficking of Persons, we proudly support the movement to prevent and eliminate trafficking of persons and continue to shine a light on this alarming and serious crime.

This year’s theme for the global campaign is “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking.” The campaign aims to not only raise awareness of child trafficking but also calls for accelerated action to end child trafficking.

It is our experience that people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with an immigration matter are extremely vulnerable to modern slavery, are less able to obtain advice about their experiences and face particular challenges when needing support when they do disclose and report to non-government agencies and government authorities.

Our Humanitarian team work with victims of trafficking, migrant smuggling and modern slavery, often collaborating with our Workplace team to provide legal advice, assistance, community legal education and law reform services. Circle Green’s expertise in both migration and employment law sees it uniquely placed to address issues of trafficking and modern slavery.
