Vulnerable Women Funding Project
What we’re doing
Our Humanitarian team has been engaged to deliver the Vulnerable Women Funding Project (VWFP), a 3-year funding program, which is focused on delivering dedicated legal assistance to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse women who are experiencing or are at risk of family and domestic violence (FDV).
Our well-established legal service currently assists women on permanent and temporary visas who are experiencing or are at risk of violence with navigating the immigration visa framework and through the VWFP we are able to extend our legal assistance to women with a range of legal issues including Family Violence Restraining Orders, parenting, divorce and Criminal Injuries Compensation matters.
As part of the VWFP, the Humanitarian team have partnered with Luma (formerly Women’s Health and Family Service) to re-establish an outreach service located at their Northbridge headquarter. This provides our mutual clients with a wrap-around health, social and legal support service in the one place.
The outreach service aims to remove barriers for women accessing ‘face-to-face’ confidential legal assistance and runs alongside Luma’s outreach program with Legal Aid WA of which will make available additional legal support for each client.
